  ETHEL FAIR 2008
A part of the series New Music Champions.

Celebrating their 10th anniversary, ETHEL, America’s most intrepid and expansive amplified string quartets, performs and hosts the second annual ETHEL FAIR. Joining the quartet is a musically omnivorous, prolific and passionate lineup of collaborators that includes bluegrass legend Dean Osborne, pixie-songstress Jill Sobule, “free-range” punk-jazz quartet gutbucket, GRAMMY Award-winning harmonica legend Howard Levy, slam-poetry powerhouse Rives and more.

The program is emceed by WNYC’s Terrance McKnight and features the World Premiere of Mark Stewart’s “On the Origin of the Species” performed by ETHEL and Mark Stewart on Stewart’s custom-designed daxophones.
