Part of Symphony Space's Ballet in HD series, bringing unforgettable dance from around the world to our screens.
"Mr. McGregor remains intensely responsive to the slightly strange fusion of sacred text and tone, with jazzy undercurrents in Chichester Psalms. And Mr. Wheeldon is similarly resourceful in his responses to...Serenade after Plato: Symposium...that slips between poetic lyricism and driving dynamic rhythm." - Roslyn Sulcas, The New York Times
This program includes two world premieres by Wayne McGregor and Christopher Wheeldon, as well as the first revival of Liam Scarlett's The Age of Anxiety set to Bernstein's Symphony No. 2.
Continuing distinctive creative collaborations beyond the world of dance, Wayne McGregor's new ballet Yugen incorporates designs by artist Edmund de Waal and music from Bernstein's Chichester Psalms.
Christopher Wheeldon collaborates with award-winning fashion designer Erdem Moralioglu to create the costumes for his piece Corybantic Games, set to Bernstein's Serenade after Plato: Symposium.
