The teaching artist investigates this tradition with students, inviting them to expand and to focus their minds, bodies, and spirits to experience the full joy of movement. These workshops culminate in the students creating their own original dances. Simultaneously, through movement, creative activity, and discussion, participants gain an in-depth understanding of the development of modern dance and its role in American society over the past century and present.
