Sharing their knowledge of local folk music and storytelling, A Life with Drums artists lead an exploration of samba music, including the ceremonial origins of Maracatu, an Afro-Brazilian musical tradition developed by enslaved people brought to Brazil from Africa. Through sharing songs, percussion, and movement, students are soon singing, clapping rhythms, and dancing to the irresistible sounds of Brazil.
