New York's Top Talent with Tony Smiles
Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Symphony Space
New York's Top Talent is New York's premier performing arts competition. It was created by Executive Producer and CEO of JAV Entertainment Inc. José Antonio Villafañe Jr. (aka- Tony Smiles) in 2009 for the single purpose of giving back. José Antonio Villafañe Jr., being a graduate and proud alumnus of the highly credited New York's High School for the Performing Arts, Fiorello H. LaGuardia, wanted to give back to the performing arts by giving new artists a place where they can showcase their talent, give back to our community by raising awareness of some great charities, and in turn those charities will give back to our community with emergency assistance.
New York's Top Talent hosted a one hour Off Broadway Rehearsal Show on December 04, 2010. Before officially debuting on January 11, 2011 (01.11.11 a date that comes around once in a Lifetime) at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, New York with participating charities like, The March of Dimes (MOD) and The American Red Cross (ARC) of Greater New York. New York's Top Talent not only raised awareness but it raised much needed funds for these great organizations. Despite a powerful Nor'Easter hitting New York City the show went on and Lauren Testerman was crowned the first New York's Top Talent Winner on 01.11.11. New York's Top Talent on 01.11.11 also hosted eight amazing contestants, five LaGuardia High School alumni, two comedians, seven dancers from a NYC dance school, three independent recording artists, and two well-known NYC DJs.
