After several years, UN Symphony Orchestra is returning to the Peter Norton Symphony Space for a holiday concert with a joyful programme of popular arias and short pieces, by Verdi, Puccini, Bizet, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Elgar and others.

Praised by her “versatility” and “splendid vocalism” (Voce di Meche), Colombian soprano Sasha Gutiérrez is a passionate opera performer, soloist and recitalist. She is a recipient of Colombia’s scholarship program Jóvenes Talentos, and a two-time winner of Colombia’s recital competition Jóvenes Intérpretes.

Ms. Rosario Hernández-Armas is recipient of the Judith Raskin scholarship, the International Advisory Board Scholarship, winner of the Eisenberg-Fried concertó competition, encouragement award District winner at the MONC auditions, and 3rd place winner at the Ades Competition.

UN Symphony Orchestra is a community ensemble of the United Nations in New York. With musicians from over 30 different countries, its mission is to to promote peace, friendship and cooperation between nations, respect for diversity and universality. By involving those who work at the United Nations and other international organisations, the orchestra shows their engagement in these ideals.
