Before their official 1927 teaming, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy had toiled away in movies for more than ten years as solo comics. From the beginning Stan was the name above the title star, while Ollie was an ace supporting comedian. Our salute to their solo days is made up of Laurel’s Pick and Shovel (1923), Pie-Eyed (1925) and When Knights Were Cold (1923) with Hardy’s The Serenade (1916) and Say It With Babies (1926).
