The Jewish Women's Film Festival, sponsored by the Eleanor Leff Jewish Women's Resource Center of the National Council of Jewish Women New York, is a presentation of films submitted in competition. This unique festival focuses on the experiences, aspirations, and accomplishments of Jewish women through the ages and throughout the world. The festival consists of two sessions, each offering 3 unique films. Following each session there will be time for discussion. Join us for one session or the entire day! In the evening there will be a special reception at the Bar Thalia at which the "Ellie" awards will be presented to the Director of the Best Film (selected by an independent panel of judges) and to this year's honorees, the Original Six, a group of six women film directors who banded together in 1979 to challenge the male-run Hollywood machine. One of the Original Six, Lynne Littman, an Academy Award winning Director for her short documentary, Number Our Days, will be joining us. Stay tuned for more information at www.ncjwny.org.
