The New York City Short Film Festival (NYC SHORTS) is an international competitive film festival dedicated to the short form with winners in each of seven categories: Drama Short, Comedy Short, Documentary Short, Animation Short, LGBT Short, Foreign Language Short and Student Short. In 2016, NYC Shorts will celebrate its 12th annual edition. The audience votes for its favorite film in each program and there are post-screening talk backs. In its 12 year history, the festival has screened shorts from all over the world with filmmakers in attendance.
