This project grows out of Shai's childhood experience growing up among many cultures. Jewish families in his neighborhood had come from many different places, carrying their traditions, rhythms, stories, and sounds of home. Those experiences shaped his understanding of our shared roots and stayed with him as a belief that music can bring us together.
Blending Yemeni, Moroccan, Israeli, Arab, and Western musical traditions, this project brings many voices into one shared musical space, where differences become richness and connection can happen beyond language or borders. At its heart is a simple idea: many voices, one heart; many sounds, one shared human experience.
