With her winsome smile and lilting voice, Suzi Shelton is taking New York by storm! Her first solo release for kids, Simply Suzi, garnered her three prestigious awards and wowed parents and kids alike. “A musical menagerie of tunes that depict a world of sleeping lions, juicy jellyfish and slithering snakes” (New York Magazine). Suzi Shelton is riding the crest of the "kiddie rock" phenomenon with her catchy tunes, pop-rock sensibilities and thoughtful lyrics. With awards from Parents' Choice, the Children's Music Web and iParenting Media, and a brand-new 2007 Gold Award from NAPPA, she is gaining national critical acclaim as well as a loyal following in her home base of New York City. This energetic mother of two brings families to their feet to join in singing and sancing along to her original tunes.
Suzi, who regularly hosts active-play music sessions at preschools around NYC, is gaining international acclaim as she is the featured talent on two new Gymboree music-activity DVDs which are available at Gymboree Play & Music stores around the world. She's also a featured artist (along with Hannah Montana) for Daisy Rock, "the girl guitar company."
At the show, Suzi will perform tunes from the new CD, including title track "No Ordinary Day," and high-energy hits "Goin' on a Road Trip" and "Scooter Boy," also featured on her NAPPA Gold Award-winning concert DVD Suzi Shelton LIVE at Southpaw. Suzi's entire band will join the fun, including multi-instrumentalist Dan Siegler (who produced her two CDs), guitarist Rich Hinman, drummer Rob Heath and bassist Matt Clohesy along with young backup performers Sebastian and the Gumdrops.
