Roxane Gay’s writing appears in Best American Mystery Stories 2014, Best American Short Stories 2012, Best Sex Writing 2012, A Public Space, McSweeney’s, Tin House, Oxford American, American Short Fiction, Virginia Quarterly Review, and many others. She is a contributing opinion writer for The New York Times and author of the books Ayiti, An Untamed State, the New York Times bestselling Bad Feminist, the nationally bestselling Difficult Women, and the New York Times bestselling Hunger. She is also the author of World of Wakanda for Marvel. She has several books forthcoming and is at work on television and film projects. Gay also has a newsletter, The Audacity, and a podcast, The Roxane Gay Agenda. Her latest work, Opinions, was published on October 10th.

Teagle F. Bougere is currently portraying James Baldwin in The American Vicarious production of Debate: Baldwin vs. Buckley, in New York City and London. He co-starred with Catherine Zeta-Jones in the television series Queen America. Bougere's Broadway credits include The Crucible, A Raisin in the Sun, and The Tempest. He was featured in The Public Theater’s productions of Socrates and the much acclaimed production of Coriolanus in Central Park. Additional theater credits include The New Englanders at Manhattan Theater Club, Is God Is at SoHo Rep, Beast in the Jungle, the title role in the stage adaptation of Ralph Ellison’s novel Invisible Man at The Court Theater in Chicago, The Studio Theatre in Washington, D.C., and The Huntington in Boston, Julius Caesar and Cymbeline for The Public Theater in Central Park, A Soldier’s Play at Second Stage, A Fair Country at Lincoln Center, Last Dance for Sybil (with Ruby Dee) at the New Federal Theatre, An Iliad (one-man show) at the Pittsburgh Public Theater, and Joe Turner’s Come and Gone and Blue Door at Berkeley Rep. His film and television credits include The Blacklist, Hill ’n’ Gully, The Path, The Mist, Good Friday, Conviction, Cosby, The Job, Third Watch, Murder in Black and White, A Night at the Museum, The Imposters, The Pelican Brief, Two Weeks Notice, What the Deaf Man Heard, and Bull, as well as seven episodes for the Law & Order franchise.

She is the host of two popular reality competition shows, The Circle and Barbecue Showdown on Netflix. Additional film and television credits include Marry Me, First Wives Club, Always Be My Maybe, Russian Doll, and Someone Great. Buteau also hosts the popular podcast Adulting with fellow comedian Jordan Carlos. Her one-hour comedy special, Welcome to Buteaupia, is streaming on Netflix and won the Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy Special.

J Wortham (they/them) is a sound healer, reiki practitioner, herbalist, and community care worker oriented toward healing justice and liberation. J is also a staff writer for The New York Times Magazine, and co-host of the podcast Still Processing. They occasionally publish thoughts on culture, technology, and wellness in a newsletter. J is the proud editor of the visual anthology Black Futures, a 2020 Editor's choice by The New York Times Book Review, along with Kimberly Drew, from One World. They are currently working on a book about the body and dissociation for Penguin Press. J mostly lives and works on stolen Munsee Lenape land, now known as Brooklyn, New York, and is committed to decolonization as a way of life.
