The son of a baker, Paul Hollywood shot to fame with his role as a judge on The Great British Bake Off. He worked as Head Baker at exclusive hotels including Cliveden and the Dorchester, and he went on to launch The Paul Hollywood Artisan Bread Company, which supplies the British gourmet supermarket chain Waitrose, among others. Hollywood is the author of numerous cookbooks, including A Baker’s Life, Great British Baking Show: Favorite Flavors, Paul Hollywood's Pies and Puds, The Great British Baking Show: Love to Bake, Paul Hollywood’s Bread, and BAKE: My Best Ever Recipes for the Classics. Celebrate: Joyful Baking All Year Round was published today.

She was editor in chief of Gourmet magazine and previously served as restaurant critic for The New York Times, as well as food editor and restaurant critic for the Los Angeles Times. She has been honored with six James Beard Awards. In 2024, she received the James Beard Lifetime Achievement Award.
