In 1970, when Cagliari won the Championship, I was 8. I do not remember that much about the 'scudetto', but I do remember how the city was in those days. How we dressed, how we clung to the tram not to pay, Panini sticker album and all the “matches” played with the cards on the stairs of the primary school. I do remember the medal collection, with Cagliari players carved on fake golden coins. And I somewhat remember a shy guy, sometimes smiley, who always looked in the opposite direction when someone interviewed him. A guy who pointed his fists on the ground and ran all over the field whenever he scored a goal… Alessandro Lay.
