Our Own Greece

Description

Experience a captivating odyssey through the rich tapestry of Greek history, culture, and music—a voyage brimming with nostalgia, emotion, and artistic brilliance. Journey through the epochs and pivotal moments that have sculpted Greece's identity, from the dawn of democracy to the zenith of arts and civilization.

On the grand stage, witness a poetic symphony intertwining the timeless words of luminaries such as Makryiannis, Solomos, Seferis, and Elytis with the soul-stirring melodies of Tsitsanis, Vamvakaris, Theodorakis, Hatzidakis, Xarhakos, Mikroutsikos, etc. Through the cinematic masterpieces of Koundouros, Angelopoulos, and Voulgaris, immerse yourself in the visual poetry of Greece's cinematic legacy.

With 30 melodious compositions, 25 evocative film excerpts drawn from historical archives, and the artistry of seven musicians and four soloists, this spectacle promises an unforgettable homage to Greece. The Folk Orchestra, accompanied by the enchanting voices of Gerasimos Andreatos, Petros Gaitanos, Lina Orfanos, the Pancyprian Choir of N.Y directed by Phyto Stratis and the actress Efi Kitsanta will guide both the youthful and the seasoned through an evening of enlightenment and reminiscence.

Crafted by visionary Konstantinos Gralter and graphic artistry by Mosquito Studio Design, this production is curated to enchant and inspire. Under the executive stewardship of Lampros Ντinos, let this evening be a celebration of Greece's enduring legacy and a testament to the power of music and art to transcend time.
