Joffrey Ballet School Summer Ballet Performance

The Joffrey Ballet School proudly presents the Summer 2023 Finale Performance of the New York City Ballet Intensive: “Ascend”.

Artistic Directors Era Jouravlev and Jo Matos have curated a spectacular performance, showcasing our summer students in an evening of diverse repertoire that spans classical ballet, neoclassical, contemporary ballet, jazz, and modern. A three-week rehearsal process brings this performance to life, as students worked directly with our year-round Joffrey Ballet School faculty, guest instructors, and working choreographers from around the world.

Enjoy excerpts of La Sylphide, original neoclassical and contemporary works, a new take on the Broadway classic “The Wiz”, and three unique perspectives on the Horton Technique, told through their individual lens of race and gender.
