Broken Mirror & The Ballad of Dog God
A Special Double Feature Presentation
In this rare double feature event, award-nominated writer and performer The Artist Anubis presents two distinct yet interconnected works that examine identity, power, responsibility, and the stories we tell ourselves in order to survive.
Broken Mirror is an intimate and sharply human portrait of a man navigating fatherhood, relationships, anxiety, and the quiet contradictions of modern life. By turns humorous and deeply vulnerable, it invites audiences inside a mind searching for coherence in a fragmented world.
The Ballad of Dog God expands the lens. If Broken Mirror asks, “Who am I?” Dog God asks, “What do I owe?” Framed as a reckoning with personal power and collective responsibility, this companion piece challenges the audience to consider not only the self, but the systems and choices that shape our shared reality.
Presented together for a limited engagement, these two works exist in conversation—one looking inward, the other turning outward—creating a full-evening experience that moves from confession to confrontation, from reflection to revelation.
This is not simply a performance of poetry. It is a layered exploration of identity, morality, and the fragile architecture of being human.
