Experience an unforgettable evening of dance as Artistic Ventures in Dance (AVID), launches its second season with BOUNDLESS: Where Ballet's Future Takes Flight!

Artistic Director Emily Speed has curated a dynamic evening of classical and contemporary works by some of today’s most exciting choreographers, as well as a tribute to the legacy of American dance.

Audiences will enjoy the cinematic quality of Alexa Rose Foundation awardee Daniel Ojeda’s acclaimed work, "Persona", with music by Marc Mellits, alongside an expanded version of Quinn Wharton's crowd favorite, "IMPULSE". An excerpt of Ursula Verduzco’s “Untamed Woman”, commissioned for AVID’s inaugural season, will feature live vocals and music by Verduzco. To honor the rich history of classical dance, AVID presents Gerald Arpino's iconic "Confetti"—a timeless work that continues to inspire generations of dancers. The evening will feature new works, including a sneak peak at Danielle Diniz’s “Young, Wild & Free”, which will premiere during AVID’s Summer Tour. Finally, LA-based choreographer Cherice Barton will return to her more classical ballet roots after a long choreographic career in commercial dance with a world premiere this June.

Resident composer Anne-Marie Keane has crafted the captivating & original scores to accompany Barton’s & Verduzco’s choreography. Throughout the evening, dancers will be joined onstage by members of the chamber music collective Ensemble Mycelium, culminating in a performance that provides audiences with a fresh and thought-provoking experience of music & dance—one showcasing ART that MOVES.

This performance will be ASL-interpreted and include a pre-show description of the music, beginning 15 minutes prior to the show.
