Description
Singer and songwriter Aya Korem presents an acoustic performance in both Hebrew and English, featuring familiar songs and refined interpretations of Leonard Cohen, accompanied by a clear, honest voice that’s unmistakably her own. Accompanied by her musical partner and spouse, Adam Ben Amitai, she moves with ease between intimacy and openness, song and story.
Her set includes crowd favorites and some of her exciting new work, songs inspired by Nathan Alterman: contemporary readings of cornerstone Israeli texts. These songs create a bridge between past and present, giving audiences abroad a vivid sense of the cultural foundations that continue to guide her music.
Between pieces, Korem shares stories and impressions from the past two years— glimpses of everyday moments and shifting realities back home. As the evening unfolds, those reflections gather weight, culminating in a quiet reminder of how music carries memory, resilience, and the enduring pull of Israel, no matter how far the journey leads.
