Description
Vocalist Marwa Morgan will present a program of songs paying tribute to the great Egyptian composer Mohamed Abdel Wahab, who’s songs largely defined the sound of twentieth-century Arabic Music. The program will feature songs sung by Abdel Wahab himself as well as songs he composed for other singers. Marwa will be accompanied by an ensemble of musicians lead by Ameer Armaly.
Marwa Morgan is an Egyptian vocalist based in New York City. She began singing at a young age and has since performed with numerous ensembles in the U.S. and beyond. Her previous performances include prestigious stages such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center.
Growing up in Cairo, Marwa's musical style has been heavily influenced by classical Arabic music icons. Her original music blends elements of classical tradition with modern musical elements. Her recently released single, Bukra, is currently available for streaming on all major platforms.
