27th Annual Black Nutcracker Gala Benefit

The Uptown Dance Academy is considered one of Harlem’s premiere dance schools for urban youth interested in making dance their primary focus. On December 21st, the Uptown Dance Academy (UDA) will celebrate their 27th Annual Black Nutcracker Gala Benefit Fundraiser that includes a condensed 1-hour community showing at 11:00am, and the 2-hour full length ballet at 7:00pm. The production is a spectacular performance featuring a potpourri of dance styles from classical ballet to hip hop, the cha-cha slide, praise dance and African dance on pointe, featuring music from Tchaikovsky’s original score, Duke Ellington, The Commodores, and live African drumming! Choreographed by the Founder Robin Williams. Performers include the Uptown Dance Company (UDC), Uptown Kidz Pre-Professionals and the Studio Trainees.

Proceeds toward the Prince Youth into Stars Capital Campaign.
