Selected Shorts: Dangerous Women with Mona Eltahawy

Description

From Joan of Arc to Gertrude Stein to Rosa Parks, throughout time, women who challenge the cultural norms of femininity have been labeled as “provocative,” “hysterical,” “persistent”! Activist author Mona Eltahawy (The Seven Necessary Sins for Women and Girls) leads us through an evening of short stories celebrating those who subvert expectations and disrupt the peace, including Charlotte Perkins Gilman's feminist classic, “The Yellow Wallpaper.” With performances by Pascale Armand (Shakespeare in the Park's Merry Wives), Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age), Ann Harada (Schmigadoon!), Pooya Mohseni (Less Than or Equal To), and Lois Smith (The French Dispatch).

Real-time captioning (CART) will be available in our theater for patrons with hearing loss, deafness, different language and learning needs, and anyone whose experience will be enhanced by CART. To access CART on your individual smartphone or tablet, please visit bit.ly/SymphonySpace_Captions.
