Description
NASO is both honored and thrilled that Guest Conductor Benjamin Grow has invited David Krauss, Principal Trumpet of The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, to perform Haydn’s much-loved Trumpet Concerto in E-flat Major for the concluding concert of our 2018-19 season.
Surrounding the concerto are two works that explore the full range of orchestral tone colors. Grow, who serves as Music Director/Principal Conductor of Chelsea Opera, will open the concert with Schubert’s Rosamunde Overture featuring some of Schubert’s most glorious melodies. The concluding work will be Rachmaninoff’s last composition - the Symphonic Dances. Listen up for the alto saxophone in the first movement, the English horn in the second, and the Dies Irae in the final movement.
A noteworthy season finale!
