The residency concludes with “Sisters Present” highlighting contemporary songwriting by a diverse group of women of color. Rhiannon Giddens will be joined onstage by Toshi Reagon, Allison Russell, Amythyst Kiah, Lalenja Harrington, and more. Each of the five women will share a few of their songs, and collaborate with one another. Rhiannon, Allison and Amythyst will also share songs they wrote together (all on banjo) for an upcoming album they recorded for the Smithsonian Folkways label, entitled Songs of Our Native Daughters.
