overview

Best-selling author and former NASA astronaut Mike Massimino is ready to spill all of his best space secrets!  What does it feel like to travel in a rocket at 17,500 mph?  How does the earth appear from 350 miles away?  What does microgravity do to your body?  How did it feel to send the first tweet from space?  You’ll learn all of this and more at this special event celebrating Massimino’s aw-einspiring new book.

Mike Massimino rocketed into orbit on two NASA shuttle missions on which he spent over 30 hours spacewalking, performed critical repairs on the Hubble Space Telescope, and became the first human to tweet from space. Now a professor of mechanical engineering at Columbia University and a public advocate for space exploration and education, he and his work have been featured on StarTalk, NOVA, The Big Bang Theory, CNN, and The MothSpaceman is his first book.
