GRAMMY-winning bluegrass legend Del McCoury and his band make their Symphony Space debut, bringing the sights and sounds of old Nashville to New York City.
For more than fifty years, Del McCoury has defined traditional bluegrass music, attracting fans of bluegrass, folk, country, blues, and old-timey music by the thousands. His collaborations and appearances alongside other award-winning musicians, such as Bill Monroe, Steve Earle, Alison Krauss, David Grisman, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band (and even Phish!) make him a living legend not to be missed.
The Del McCoury Band is the most awarded bluegrass band of all time! Their most recent release Streets of Baltimore took home the 2013 Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album), adding to their already impressive 2006 Grammy win for The Company We Keep and over of thirty International Bluegrass Music Association Awards, including Entertainer Of The Year nine times. The Del McCoury Band continues to cross genres and in 2016 released a full-length CD of previously unrecorded, unreleased lyrics written by Woody Guthrie and personally given to Del to compose music for and perform! Del will of course continue to perform the tunes that fans love and enjoy like "Beauty of My Dreams", "My Love Will Not Change", "1952 Vincent Black Lightning", "Can't You Hear Me Callin", and "High On A Mountain".
