Not much has been written about the many women who have contributed to the development of the United States over the centuries and you have to dig deep to learn about many of the unsung heroes of American History.

This presentation is a musical illumination of the role of women’s lives in society from the 18th Century to the 19th Amendment in which women were given the right to vote. The teaching artist sings broadsides, laments, murder ballads, love songs, parlor melodies, and suffrage anthems that reflect the changing status of women in society
