Artful Dining: Oscar Hijuelos on Oscar Hijuelos
This event has been postponed due to transit conditions. You are invited to join Artful Dining, a dynamic series of private performances and intimate events designed to further the dialogue between our artists, curators, and patrons. Each event will convene no more than 25 guests in one of our gracious hosts’ homes, giving everyone present the opportunity to delight and engage in a memorable evening.
At this event:
Pulitzer Prize-winner Oscar Hijuelos’ recently published memoir Thoughts Without Cigarettes was described by the Los Angeles Times as “an essential document of the evolution of American literature” and presents a vibrant portrait of the 1950’s Cuban-American immigrants who inspired his bestselling novels including The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love. Emmy-nominated actor Sonia Manzano reads from the gripping memoir and will moderate a discussion with Hijuelos.
