Hua Hsu is a staff writer at The New Yorker and the author of Stay True, which won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award. He teaches at Bard College and writes a Substack on the cultural history of magazines.

Rebecca F. Kuang is the #1 New York Times and #1 Sunday Times bestselling author of the Poppy War trilogy, Babel: An Arcane History, Yellowface, and Katabasis. In the can, she has Jenny Suen’s Peaches, opposite Sophie Thatcher, for producer Coco Francini and Cate Blanchett’s Dirty Films; Arkasha Stevenson’s upcoming horror feature for A24, starring opposite Emma Corrin and Hunter Schafer; and Jesse Eisenberg’s The Debut for A24 and Fruit Tree. Additional film credits include Alex Russell’s Lurker for Mubi, Michael Showalter’s Oh. What. Fun. for Amazon MGM, and Josephine Decker’s The Sky Is Everywhere for A24. On the television side, she stars in Cooper Raiff’s Mubi series Hal & Harper, alongside Mark Ruffalo and Lili Reinhart, which premiered at Sundance 2025. On the theater side, she made her Off-Broadway debut in the world premiere of All Nighter in 2025. Liu broke out in Emma Seligman’s SXSW hit Bottoms, opposite Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri.
