Thalia Kids' Book Club Camp Thalia Kids’ Book Club Camp, a unique camp based at Symphony Space (95 & Broadway) offering up-close interaction with favorite children’s book authors and illustrators, is geared for avid readers and writers ages 9-12 (two one-week sessions) and 13-15 (one one-week session), who will meet with children’s book authors, take part in book discussions, and go on book-related field trips around the city.

Lively discussions between children's book authors and their fans. Each event includes a creative writing project, a free-wheeling discussion with the audience, and a book signing. Sometimes actors stop by to read from the book. Co-presented with Bank Street Bookstore.

An all-star line-up of children's book authors debate the question which is better: zombies or unicorns? The editors of the new collection Zombie vs. Unicorns Holly Black (The Spiderwick Chronicles) and Justine Larbalestier (Liar) (pro-unicorn and zombie, respectively), gathered strong arguments for both sides in the form of short stories by an eclectic group of YA novelists. At this event the editors are joined by contributors Maureen Johnson (13 Little Blue Envelopes), Libba Bray (Going Bovine), Scott Westerfeld (Leviathan), Naomi Novik (Temeraire series), and Alaya Dawn (Racing the Dark), who will argue for their side.
