Aida

Premiered in Europe at La Scala in 1872, the splendor and pageantry of Verdi's grand opera, Aida returned to La Scala's stage as the premiere 2006-2007 season, under the baton of Riccardo Chailly and directed by the legendary Franco Zeffirelli. The stellar performance recounting the dramatic story of an Ethiopian princess held in captivity in Egypt drew a sustained 12-minute ovation from the audience.

La Traviata
