Three more performances from Uptown Showdown, Symphony Space's comedy debate series. In this piece, actor Tom Cavanagh (Ed) and writer and comedian Dave Hill (This American Life, Tasteful Nudes) debate fashion and comfort on March 12, 2012, and Michael Showalter argues in favor of cats in the very first Uptown Showdown debate on November 14, 2011.

Tom Cavanagh has recently played recurring roles in Royal Pains and Scrubs starred in the series Ed and Love Monkey. He also is the co-creator and co-host of the podcast Mike and Tom Eat Snacks with Michael Ian Black.

Dave Hill is a writer, performer, musician, actor and frequent contributor toThis American Life. He is also the host of the podcast Dave Hill's Podcasting Incident and is a regular HBO and Cinemax host. He has written for several publications including the New York TimesThe Huffington Post, and Salon. His book Tasteful Nudes:...and Other Misguided Attempts at Personal Growth and Validation will be published in May. He's also a member of at least five rock bands.

Michael Showalter was a founding member of the sketch comedy troupe, The State, which ran for three seasons on MTV. He has also been in the comedy trio Stella with Michael Ian Black and David Wain, and Michael and Michael Have Issues with Michael Ian Black, both of which were produced as series for Comedy Central. Showalter co-wrote, co-produced and starred in the cult comedy Wet Hot American Summer, and directed, wrote and starred in the IFC Films romantic comedy, The Baxter. His latest stand-up comedy record, Sandwiches & Cats, was released in November of 2007 on the JDub Records label, and his comedic memoir, Mr. Funny Pants, was published by Hachette Book Group in 2011.

Daniel Pecoraro serves as host of Uptown Showdown's podcast series in his role as Audio Intern at Symphony Space, and is also the producer and host of the quiz show The Thursday Trivia Podcast and the audio documentary series infinitespace.
