KELLY BARNHILL is the author of The Mostly True Story of Jack; Iron Hearted Violet, for which she received a Parents’ Choice Gold Award; and most recently, The Witch’s Boy, which was named a Best Book of 2014 by The Washington Post, Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, and the Chicago Public Library. She has received writing fellowships from the Jerome Foundation and the Minnesota State Arts Board, and was recently named a 2015 McKnight Writing Fellow in Children’s Literature.

ADAM GIDWITZ is the author of bestselling children’s books A Tale Dark and Grimm, In a Glass Grimmly, and The Grim Conclusion. He has also written a retelling of Star Wars for young readers. A Tale Dark and Grimm was named a New York Times Editor’s Choice, a Publishers Weekly Best Children’s Book of the Year, a School Library Journal Best Children’s Book of the Year, and an ALA Notable Book. He attended Columbia University, graduating with a degree in English Literature, and has taught at St. Ann’s school in Brooklyn.
