The mysterious author of the New York Times-bestselling book The Name of This Book is Secret, as well as the other dangerous and daring adventures in the hugely popular The Secret series gives a behind-the-scenes look at his new adventure series Bad Magic. In conversation with ADAM GIDWITZ (A Tale Dark and Grimm).

+ About the Artists

Pseudonymous Bosch is the author of the New York Times bestselling Secret Series (The Name of This Book Is Secret; If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late; This Book Is Not Good for You; This Isn’t What it Looks Like; and You Have to Stop This), as well as Write This Book. The newly released Bad Magic is a mystery adventure series from Pseudonymous Bosch that will have you believing in the unbelievable. Not much is known about the author other than that he has a passionate love of chocolate and cheese and an equally passionate hatred of mayonnaise. Rumors of Boschian sightings are just as frequent and about as reliable as reports of alien abductions. If you ever meet anyone claiming to be Pseudonymous himself he is almost certainly an impostor. The real Pseudonymous is said to be hiding in a cave in a remote jungle (although there are contrary reports that he is somewhere in Greenland). Where does he live? That’s for him to know and you to find out...or not. His identity is a closely-guarded secret.

Adam Gidwitz taught in Brooklyn for eight years. Now, he writes full time—which means he writes a couple of hours a day, and lies on his couch staring at the ceiling the rest of the time. He is the author of the bestselling A Tale Dark and Grimm trilogy, which includes A Tale Dark and Grimm, In a Glass Grimmly, and The Grimm Conclusion. The first book in the series was named a New York Times Editor’s Choice, while the first two books have been best books of the year in Publishers Weekly, School Library Journal, and Kirkus. A film version of A Tale Dark and Grimm is currently in development. He is also working on books based on the original Star Wars film trilogy, as well as a new series for middle grade.
