+ About the Artists

Roger Angell began contributing to the New Yorker in 1944 and joined the staff as a fiction editor in 1956. He is the author of seven celebrated baseball books, including The Summer Game and A Pitcher's Story, and two collections of short stories and humor. He lives in New York and Maine.

 

Mark Singer has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1974. He is the author of Funny Money; Mr. Personality: Profiles and Talk Pieces from the New Yorker; Citizen K: The Deeply Weird American Journey of Brett Kimberlin; Somewhere in America: Under the Radar with Chicken Warriors, Left-Wing Patriots, Angry Nudists, and Others;  and Others; Character Studies: Encounters with the Curiously Obsessed.  He lives in New York City.
