+ About the Performance
This program was recorded 10/01/2011 at Symphony Space.

Everything the Story Pirates perform is based on a story written by an elementary school student - from the shame of chronic bedwetting to the tender love between the devil and some guy she met at Starbucks - but once a month, the Story Pirates put on a show just for grown ups. The material is pulled right from their school tour, but there are no kids allowed.

With music, puppets, and a hilarious glimpse of the world through the minds of kids, this is the only sketch show in town where you might see a David Bowie-style tribute to a good Hebrew School education.

Based in New York and Los Angeles, the Story Pirates have blown the minds of over 500,000 second graders. You're next.

"All grown up but want to see some Story Pirates? You're in luck. The Story Pirates AfterDark show features some of the group's greatest hits, with just a dose of adult humor."
--The New York Post

"Story Pirates shares little in common with modern day children's programming; it's more in line with classic, geeky fare like Sesame Street, or the all-ages entertainment provided by Pixar. The fact that the group performs nearly the same scripts for their mid-day children's shows as they do for late-night 'AfterDark' adults-only performances is a testament to the cheeky wisdom of the pieces."
--Geek Magazine

"The Story Pirates teach kids a love of creative writing. It helps kids to see that their words and ideas are really important. I believe that what the Story Pirates are doing is helping America, nay, humanity-helping humanity itself. It's crazy entertaining."
--Jon Stewart, The Daily Show
