Always one of the most anticipated shows of the season, Elizabeth Mitchell creates gentle, heartfelt music that transfixes audiences of all ages with homespun renditions of great songs by Woody Guthrie, Bob Marley, The Velvet Underground, Vashti Bunyan, Gillian Welch and more! The quiet sweetness and intimacy of her concerts cement her as an icon whose music will be remembered for years to come.

+ About the Artists

Elizabeth Mitchell, a Smithsonian Folkways Recordings artist, has been recording and performing music for children and families since 1998. Elizabeth was the first new children ‘s music artist signed to Smithsonian Folkways in the 21st century.

Elizabeth’s most recent release is an album called “Little Seed: Songs for Children by Woody Guthrie.” The record includes eight newly recorded songs and five that were previously released. The album was released as part of the celebration of the 100th birthday of Woody Guthrie in July of 2012.


Elizabeth and family live in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York. She records and performs with her extended family band You Are My Flower, which includes her husband Daniel Littleton and their eleven year old daughter, Storey.
