After a stunning and entertaining sold-out show in the Thalia last year, and the success of her recent Angela's Mixtape, the engaging singer-songwriter returns with some of her favorite musicians to present an evening of favorite material mixed with new songs. The show also features Chris Eddleton on drums, Miriam Sullivan on bass, and Marvin Sewell and Jon Spurney on guitars.

Eisa Davis began her musical training with the organist in her grandmother's church, then studied with a pianist playing with jazz legend Pharaoh Sanders. She continued training in classical piano at UC Berkeley's Young Musicians Program and began composing music at age 13. A graduate of Harvard College and the Actors Studio Drama School, Ms. Davis is now a multifaceted artist also working in the theatre, on film, and television. She recently completed a run playing the singer-songwriter Marrell in This at Playwrights Horizons, and received an Obie Award for her role in the acclaimed rock musical Passing Strange, now available on DVD as a film directed by Spike Lee. Other screen credits include The Wire, Damages, Mercy, and the Sundance film Welcome to the Rileys opposite James Gandolfini. As a playwright, she was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Drama with her play Bulrusher, was named a best of 2009 in The New Yorker for her play Angela's Mixtape, and was mentioned in the Village Voice as a significant contributor to the theatrical landscape of the last decade. Ms. Davis' album of original music Something Else is available on CDBaby, iTunes, and distributed by Sandfish Records in Japan. She has collaborated with Daniel T. Denver to create Tinctures, a project which generated music featured on the Showtime series Soul Food, and was one of two singers in the premiere of Nathaniel Stookey's Zipperz with the Oakland Symphony. Ms. Davis has performed her music at venues including Joe's Pub, BAMCafé, Symphony Space, the Whitney Museum, the Jazz Gallery, Makor, Tonic, CB's Gallery, the Duncan Theatre in West Palm Beach, and the Temple Bar in Santa Monica.
