overview

Beats Per Revolution kicks off with The Beat of the Poets (an homage to the poetry of the Beat Generation and revolutionary artists like Gil Scott-Heron and the Lost Poets). Hosted by Martha Mooke, with RahzelDr. Jamila Lyiscott, Karl "Dice Raw" Jenkins, emerging artists from Urban Word and other special guests. The Beat of the Poets draws on the rhythm of the words, featuring performances of contemporary and classic works, conversations, critiques and a surprise ending not to be Beat! (or will it?!)

Part of the Martha Mooke and Rahzel Residency
