What do James Taylor and Carly Simon have in common? His name is Ben Taylor and he is their most musically gifted son. Ben will be performing songs from his new CD "Listening" which can be purchased at www.bentaylormusic.com. Come be a part of a musical evening to benefit the Songs of Love Foundation, which provides personalized songs for children and teens facing tough medical, physical and emotional challenges. Nearly 24,000 "songs of love" have been created for ailing children nationwide. The songs have been used to help alleviate fear and pain during hospital treatments. Also on tap is the opening artist Carl Allocco, a regular Songs of Love writer who has written over 3,000 "songs of love." Managed in the 80s first by Tommy Mottola (Sony Records), Carl's style has been described as a hybrid of early 60s pop and 70s acoustic, with the lyrical intensity of Dylan.
The special evening will be hosted by Ken Dashow of Q104, as he himself will be honored for his 35 year contribution to New York rock radio. The audience members will get to record on the chorus of a "song of love" that will be written and performed by Ben Taylor. The song will then be presented to a local sick child and will be made available as a download to all who have participated! Visit www.songsoflove.org to learn more about Songs of Love, a unique charity helping children with the medicine of music. You can also see Songs of Love on 60 Minutes with Dan Rather at www.songsoflove.org/60minutes. All net proceeds from the show will enable Songs of Love to help many more ailing children with their very own "song of love."
