The Labor of Love Association celebrates 10 Years of Inspirational Concerts!
On September 13, 2003, The Labor of Love Association hosted its very first concert, "The Labor of Love" Memorial Service Concert in memory of the late Evangelist Dorothy E. Baker, founder of United New Church of Christ Deliverance Unto the Lord, in celebration of her lifetime achievement of service to the church and community, which was truly a "labor of love". After her death in 2002, the members founded The Labor of Love Association, Inc.; the mission: hosting Inspirational concerts; fundraising for charities; rewarding labors of love. Over the years they have supported St. Jude's Children's Hospital, NYSAVE Pet Charity, Operation H.E.L.P - Katrina Relief and currently The American Heart Association.
This year's 10th Anniversary will once again host The Heart to Heart Concert devoted to uplifting hearts with praise while promoting healthy heart awareness. Many experts now believe that a positive attitude is a very important part of staying healthy. And what better way to begin a positive outlook on life than uplifting spirits with inspiring songs that uplift the soul.
Be a part of this special 10th year commemorative celebration - a night of "hand-clapping, foot-stomping" thunderous praise promoting positive living and a healthy lifestyle. Back by popular demand, "The World's Greatest Gospel Story Teller", Evangelist Dorothy Norwood will grace the stage with her unique style of gospel storytelling like no other!
A special tribute - "Remembering Evangelist Dorothy Baker" will be presented by the following artists:
Reverend Eugene Marin
Labor of Love Ensemble
Pastor Vandell Atkins
Elder George & Sister Barbara Heyward
Sister Dorothy Tolbert
Portions of the proceeds (25% of net income) go to aid The American Heart Association. Presented by The Labor of Love Association, Inc.*
* The Labor of Love Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) charitable foundation that produces musical (Gospel) concerts as a vehicle for fundraising in order to provide support towards research for the cure and care of childhood diseases, financial support for animals in medical emergencies, and the development of scholarships to be awarded to minority children desiring to enter college.
