Composer collective and new music ensemble Red Light New Music presents its final mainstage concert of the 2011/12 season: Music in Layers.
With Music in Layers Red Light offers fresh arrangements of recent works by New York City composers David Lang, Christopher Cerrone, Adrian Knight, Vincent Raikhel, Liam Robinson and Scott Wollschleger.
The new perspective offered by these arrangements is reinforced by a set of ambient electronic interludes, created by Christopher Cerrone and Adrian Knight. These interludes, drawn from field recordings of urban and nocturnal landscapes, link the featured works into a seamless whole, and magnify the layers of tonal, rhythmic and atmospheric connection between each of the works.
