LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Students will:

• Be familiar with African folk tales from different parts of the continent.

• Have an understanding of the role and function of oral tradition as a means of transmitting and preserving history and culture throughout Africa.

• Have acquired knowledge about African countries or regions by researching the landscapes, plants, animals, and lifestyles that characterize them.

• Be able to combine collaborative research, writing, and artwork to create and present a book.
