For it’s
2007-08 season finale, Fireworks Ensemble presents two major new commissioned
works by two of America’s most important Neo-Romantic voices: Pulitzer
Prize-winning composer David Del Tredici and west coast master symphonist Robert
Kyr. Pushing the boundaries of the composers’ tonal, expressive styles into
fresh territory, the large-scale commissioned works: Del Tredici’s A Field
Manual: Poetry of Edward Field, and Kyr’s Working Fire/Fireworks Variations
create a startling synthesis of lush romantic tonality and gritty,
