Concert version performed with piano accompaniment. Impresario: Mr. Angel is gathering a group of travelling players, both actors and singers.

Hansel and Gretel: Performed in English. Semi-staged with piano accompaniment. Humperdinck's opera Hansel and Gretel is based on the Grimm brothers' whimsical fairy tale with the same name. Hansel and his sister Gretel are picking strawberries in the woods. As dusk approaches quickly, they become lost. They are forced to stay the night in the woods.

Carmen: Performed in French with English Narrations. Concert version performed with piano accompaniment. Act I. Outside in a busy square in Seville in the 19th century. Micaela, a peasant girl, enters, looking for the corporal Don Jose. Morales, a sergeant, tries to persuade her to stay, explaining that Don Jose will be returning soon, but she rushes off.  

8 pm • Diana Wortham Theatre - Asheville, NC Regular $35, Student $30

Golden Globe Award winner Jill Eikenberry and multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Michael Tucker join host Isaiah Sheffer to perform a trio of hilarious and provocative tales about three modern couples in unexpected predicaments, behaving rather badly. The program includes readings of: "Jamaica" by David Schickler; "Adults Alone" by A.M. Homes; and "Fatso" by Etgar Keret.
